CanalPro CHX 2% is an irrigating solution based on 2% chlorhexidine digluconate, recommended as an additional irrigant during endodontic treatments and retreatment procedures. It provides effective antimicrobial control within the root canal system and is particularly effective against Enterococcus faecalis and fungi, microorganisms frequently associated with persistent endodontic infections.

Irrigation solutions are used to help dissolve vital and necrotic tissue, eradicate bacteria and other microorganisms, remove the smear layer, and lubricate the canal system. Since no single irrigant can achieve all of these goals, the use of multiple irrigating solutions during clinical treatment is recommended. Commonly used irrigants include sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), EDTA, and 2% chlorhexidine (CHX).
